All that to say… Watch it!

The push to remove any laws pertaining to net neutrality world wide has been going on for a few years now. So there the ‘political‘ element is covered.

Other test projects have evolved over years. Blackberries communications network. Channel based subscriptions to satellite and cable radio stations. Packaging of satellite and cable tv. And the consumer accepted it, no questions asked, maybe one, where do I fill in my credit card, please track my consumer behaviour. Gladly paying for different types of grouped access types of essentially the same thing. Digital communication…just it is being channeled.

Even WAP would be part of it. I remember my first WAP experience on my led-screen brick of a NOKIA GSM phone. Damn I was exited surfing the LCD WAP.

Now there are so many channels, it is easy to loose track. On the net content creation and interest are tightly linked. User generated content apps and search engines that together give media buyers and ad-placement agencies a very specific idea of where to place their ads, and what article to modify on wikipedia. What group to create of facebook, hatebook and twitter, what photo series to publish on flikker. In short to initiate a wave of interest on the net is, if the channels are properly used you can create a buzz about almost anything. Having the resources at your disposal helps, off course. Companies like google have to provide the US government with user information of users watching certain videos (youtube and google video). I wonder if the videos they want to have user information include Taxi to the dark side and Zeitgeist – the movie. But that is just paranoid me maybe. Anyway….all this to say, business is business and where there is money to be made the grunts move in…

…one big loss for us. Google, and other major search engines, have so far refused to hand over user profiles to governments (officially anyways), but now things are about to change…
