be done with it allready

Get done with it allreadyThe mouse has been around for too long. It and the keyboard have hijacked the experience of exploring data for too long. Today a friend published a site, which, incedently, does look real nice. And I hope that it will be a grand success. A site that covers two decisive elements. Usability and good looks. And it might even be called ‘user-friendly’, given the environment, that we are given to explore, use and shape data at this given time. But yesterday, while talking about a new project at work I did, once again, bring up the possibility of using the camera to detect movement initiating data interaction as well as the Wii-Mote experiments by Johnny Lee. And it makes me wonder. How much longer do we need to be confided to a keyboard and a 2D screen when interacting with Data.
In a previous post I published a video of a Ted Talk about putting ‘Africa into the computer‘.
So I hope that hope that putting ‘human’ into the computer, is a project that is making headway as well. If you know of interesting projects in that direction, please let me know. My arms are hurting…
