January 27, 2007
Good morning all.
Well I shared the link to Aniboom a while back. The time for the finals is upon us. the final 30 videos have been divided in 6 categories. I think I already know my winner, but I strongly suggest you go take a look at these perls of little animated movies. A nice time killer for a cold January morning like this one in Montreal!

Kidnapped
Two girls kidnapped the new Diesel underwear model. Essentially Diesel have opened their hatches, and they are ready for the user-generated content flowing in. I mean to remember someone saying in a meeting yesterday, that ‘2007 was the year of personalization’. Well I think Diesel are right on the spot!

Don’t blink!
“Man or mice” Who will win, you or kitty? Guess this is what we call a useless site? But the absurdity makes it kind of funny I found…

Christmas on the web was so full of niceties I feel like sending you some more even though it has not even been a week since the last time I shared.
Foster Farms - The Foster Imposters
Follow the antics of two dumb and dumber chickens trying to get into Foster Farms. This rich media microsite is the online progression of the TV commercials currently airing in the USA. A careful balance of animated feature and retro-style games, the site reinforces the notion that chickens really will do anything to be a Foster Farms chicken.

Framestore CFC - Christmas Card
A visually explosive Flash animated holiday card for Framestore CFC. The short piece is an eccentric visual homage to the work of the largest visual effects and computer animation studio in Europe.

a year allready?
January 16, 2007
As they say “time flies when you are having fun”, well, doesn’t it. Well it has not been fun at all times. But it sure as hell has been stable, and also, it has become a pilar in my digital life. Exactly a year ago I decided to make the switch. I decided to remove windows from one of my machines and hop over on the Ubuntu train.
It took some fiddling, it took some nobbing, some hair got lost, but not more then there grew. I tested out different versions, and sub-versions (there are several -buntu’s out there), but in the end I decided to stick with the real one, the true one, the great one: Ubuntu.
Especially since the last summer’s version, Dapper Drake, life has become so much easier. With Automatix installed and a huge, very friendly and helpful user community only a click a away, Ubuntu has been running like a charm for a year now. No more spyware, no worries about viruses (not that I ever caught one, even on dreaded Windows). Life is good. I installed this marvel of an operating-system on several of my machines now, my friends machine and a server or two. I really recommend it to anyone. If you aren’t convinced, try it on an old machine, just for starters. Or simply use the live CD version, which does not require you to install anything, it simply runs of a CD, no reboot required…Ubuntu can be installed on both MACs (powerMac and IntelMac) and PCs…
Three months ago, my XP’d Dell went out the window, and all now runs of my laptop. Development, Communication, Movies, TV, Games… it all happens right here on Ubuntu.
Just had to share that…
TV’s about to change?

That’s at least what the guys that where behind Kazaa and Skype are announcing on their newest project, joost.com.
They write the following:
Joost™ is a new way of watching TV on the internet, which uses new and established technologies to provide the best of both the internet and TV worlds. We’re in the process of making it as TV-like as we can, with programmes, channels and adverts. You can also see some things that we think will enhance the TV experience: searching for programmes and channels, for example, as well as social features like chat. There are many more new features to come!
I signed up for a tester account and will let you know as soon as I get some feedback…
